I have spent many years in riding schools taking riders from beginners through to confident effective riders. I have also spent time in studs and training centres learning how to “start” young horses, help train problematic horses and give their owners the skills to ride and handle them.
I have had my own horses all my life and competed regularly. In the beginning I did mostly eventing but as time went on I got more and more heavily involved in dressage.
In 2008 I had the opportunity to train with the most successful dressage rider in the world, Anky van Grunsven in the Netherlands. She is three times Olympic gold medalist, twice world champion and nine times winner of the world cup finals. I rode an established grand prix horse, along with several other younger greener horses.I schooled all the higher level movements in dressage. I also regularly got to watch Anky train and also give lessons to the dutch Olympic dressage team.
My aim now is to achieve my EFA NCAS Level Two Dressage specialist qualifications which I am currently half way through completing.
